we start at eleven with you decide coverage. massive numbers of voters are headed to the polls early...too tuesday's election. milwaukee beat its own early-voting record... set back in 2012. our deandra corinthios has more from downtown. city officials estimate when all is said and done...it will be a 27 percent increase. the most recent update from the election commission showed 38 thousand absentee votes cast. two thousand more than in 2012. that was wednesday!

city officials estimate that number is likely to reach close to 50- thousand. that translates to roughly one in five voters citywide. as long as you're registered-- saturday is the last day to vote early. if you're not-- you have to get it done by friday night-- or wait until election day. and new this year --there are three locations the zeidler building downtown, midtown center and the forest home library. milwaukee mayor tom barrett says the higher totals....are due to expanded voting hours -- and vote. early voting runs today from 830 am to 7 pm...and tomorrow if you're already registered ... from noon to five. we have information about all three locations...at fox6 now

police are looking for a suspect who shot a man walking into his home on milwaukee's northwest side. it happened just before 11 last night near 88th and cap gunshots at a 34-year-old man. the victim was taken to the hospital by a friend. no word on his condition. police continue to investigate. a suspect is in custody this morning after leading police on a high speed chase. officials say they spotted a car a suspect used, to flee an armed robbery near 10th and center. officers attempted to stop the car...but the driver took off. the car eventually stopped at 10th and cleveland -- and the suspect bailed out of

an s-u-v was driving the wrong way on eye-94 near deerfield and hit the accountants car... and one other vehicle. the driver of the s-u-v is from waunakee and is in critical condition. the lone occupant of the other vehicle, a man from northbrook illinois, also died. even for investigators on scene... this was a devastating accident. sgt. william miller says: "we're humans too -- and when you see this kind of damage and carnage out there, it's very difficult to process. i know that my people out there that were working last night, they're take care of this job." new at eleven... the milwaukee police officer who shot and killed sylville smith...pleads not guilty this morning on separate sexual assault charges. dominique heaggan-brown was arrested on sexual assault charges less than two weeks ago. last night, the fire and police commission upheld chief ed flynn's decision to fire haeggan-brown. police say it's the result of an internal investigation of

ex-police officer. haeggan-brown was on paid leave since the august shooting of sylville smith. smith's death sparked nights of violence in the sherman park neighborhood. he allegedly assaulted a man at his apartment after the two were drinking at a bar while watching coverage of the violent protests. also developing-- two caledonia parents are accused of abusing their baby. jest wongs-nuss and krystal hall face charges of abuse and neglect.investigator s say hall took t racine hospital. the baby had fractures on his skull and bleeding on his brain. the injuries were so great, the infant required treatment in milwaukee. we are told the infant's injuries are not life threatening. when the parents were questioned by police--they denied abuse. a milwaukee woman is now offering 50- thousand dollars... for information that could lead to an arrest in her daughter's shooting death. 25-year-old ebony taylor was

july 13th, while sitting on a porch near 33rd and hadley. her killer, or killers, have not been caught. taylor's foster mother, kim zul- kow-ski, tells fox 6, she hopes a considerable cash incentive could convince someone to come forward...and ultimately lead to the people responsible for taylor's death. anyone with information is asked to contact milwaukee police. many workers in milwaukee county will soon get a raise. the milwaukee county board voted minimum wage within the county to 15- dollars by 20-22. here's how it would break down.. on january first - the wage would rise to 12-dollars and 25-cents. then on january first of 20-18...it would go up to 13 dollars...and increase by 50-cents every year until it reaches 15-dollars on january first, 20- 22. right now, the minimum wage is 7- dollars and 25-cents an hour.

across america... the las vegas strip is darker than usual. the famous paris las vegas resort was forced to evacuate its property, after a power outage last night. fox's andrew craft is there with more. it is a city known for its sparkling lights and electronic slot machines... so, imagine the surprise when the power went out at a major resort on the las vegas strip. beltra was in an employee's bathroom. cut off the light." the entire 33-story paris las vegas resort going dark thursday morning when workers in the basement cut into a main power line. that includes the hotel, restaurant... and the casino. no injuries reported, but nearly a dozen people needed to be rescued from elevators. mos says: ".. a few people were... uh... anxiety-related issues early on but nobody transported to the hospital." broome says: "..the fire department did an outstanding job of clearing the elevators within an hour and a half of the power being shut down."

a woman is found alive after she was missing for two months. police in south carolina say kayla brown was found chained like a dog inside a metal container. officials say the 30-year-old and her boyfriend disappeared back in august. police found brown chained by the neck in a metal container, about 50 miles from her home yesterday morning. the suspect ---todd kohl-hepp -- was arrested and charged with convicted sex offender. the case remains under investigation while authorities search the property for other missing people. brown's boyfriend has not been found yet. the pipeline rupture that's caused a rise in gas prices in the southeast is expected to be repaired by this weekend. the colonial pipeline ruptured monday in shelby county, alabama... killing one worker and injuring five others. and one fuel line had to be shut down to fix the problem. the company

areas dealing with gas shortages-- the governors of alabama.-- georgia-- and north carolina have issued executive orders waiving regulations for commercial truck drivers transporting motor fuel in their states. jerry sandusky is scheduled to appear in court today. the former penn state university assistant football coach is serving a 30- to 60-year sentence for sexually abusing ten boys. his lawyers called for the appeal his charges dismissed or get a new trial. sandusky's lawyers believe prosecutors hid information about a man identified as "victim two" because his account did not help their case. around the world... iraqi special forces continue making progress in the fight to retake mosul from isis. special forces began their assault into more urban neighborhoods of mosul today. a military spokesperson says troops fought the islamic state

the infant required treatment in milwaukee when the parents were questioned by police--they denied abuse. the baby was previously treated at a hospital after his tongue was bleeding. the parents say that was due to an accident with a syringe. a neighbor says he's waiting to hear the whole story. it could've been an accident. i'm not going to judge. we are told the infants injuries are not life threatening. the halls of public schools in milwauk under one of several ideas proposed by the m- p-s superintendent. from uniforms, to when the school year starts...a marquette senior fellow who follows public education here says its the most sweeping set of plans m-p-s has seen in years. a.j. bayatpour has the story. superintendent darienne driver presented the plan before the school board at tuesday nights meeting. alan borsuk bor-sick has covered the district for 20 years and now tracks local public education as a senior fellow at

is saying. she's playing offense, defense and special teams for her youth football team, that's all boys. but this is something she might have been born to do. tom pipines goes beyond the game. football is usually seen as a game for boys and men. but shorewood 8th grader sabina lofton is changing all that. "just playing the sport, i've always loved football." this is actually sabina's third sabina is a defensive tackle, an offensive guard, and also the long snapper. all positions where you hit and get hit. "i just kind of do my job, do what the coaches tell me to do, i don't really mind that much because its football, that's how you play." her family was a big reason for her decision to play football. "my brothers and my dad they've always played and this is the sport they taught me and why don't i

darrell lofton, has plenty of coaching experience, both male and females. "i also coached the wisconsin warriors which is a milwaukee semi-pro women's football and that was her first experience in football. she was very young and probably doesn't remember it but that was her first experience seeing all women play football." but even with his experience, letting his daughter battle in the trenches with especially for mom. "obviously as parents we worry football is rough, but i convinced my wife that as long as i was involved and coaching her and teaching her the right way to tackle, the right way to hit to avoid concussions that she'd be ok." and she's been more than ok. this year, sabina was named a captain of her middle school team. something coach john curran say she's earned. "she's someone who had to do a lot of different things for us, as then as time went on we relied on her to be a leader

most reliable blocker on the line." sabina isn't just the only girl on her team, there are only boys in her league. but her family and coaches say that's never been a problem. "i think once they said ok she can hit just as hard she can run just as fast and she can do all the same things we can do and she's helping the team and then she became part of the team at that point." "she's just part of the team a really great part of the team and just sort girls be interested." sabina has tried to recruit some her girlfriends to play. but that has been unsuccessful. "some of them were like we have other sports we like, and no i could never do that." so could we be seeing sabina making blocks and tackles at the prep level next year? "i'm kind of still deciding if i'll play high school or not, i kind of want to but it will be a little different." whatever she decides, she has the support of her family. "we want to encourage all of our kids to do whatever they want to do as long as they are willing to do it well and give
